facilities
The BPS facilities were specifically designed to address worker safety, environmental containment and product separation. In order to satisfy these requirements, BPS occupies five different buildings on three separate sites compromising 87,500 square feet of area. These units house 15 vertical form-fill-seal units, five blenders, four presses and two hammer mills. Some of our units are designed to run multiple lane four-sided seal packages targeted to consumer markets.
All production areas are air conditioned and humidity controlled. All buildings are fully covered by sprinkler systems as well as diked to ensure fire water retention.
Unit 1 is designated for traditional herbicides and non-agricultural chemicals. It is comprised of four packaging rooms, each with a dedicated dust collection system and 12,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space. In a typical year, BPS produces several million packages of dry and liquid herbicides in sizes ranging from 1.5 ounce to 7.5 pounds. Package types include water soluble bags, laminated flexible film bags, child resistant Valéron bags, screw top jars and jugs.
It supports a complete compliment of washrooms, cafeteria and machine shop to limit any possible movement of herbicides out of the unit.
Unit 1 Satellite 15 is a free standing building used for packaging of high activity herbicides and blending products for the water treatment market.
Unit 2 houses our administrative offices as well as five packaging rooms, each with a dedicated dust collection system, and warehouse space. Unit 2 is designated for insecticides, fungicides and non-agricultural chemicals. Also located in Unit 2 is a film slitter, allowing for in house inventory of mother rolls of film, change rooms with showers, cafeteria and a machine shop.
Unit 3 is located approximately 1 mile from our main plant site. It is designated as a single use plant for high activity herbicides (HAH). Unit 3 is a completely self contained facility offering a full compliment of cafeteria and change rooms.
Unit 5, sharing the Unit 2 site, is comprised of a full service laboratory and packaging rooms and includes a stainless steel Munson style mixer capable of 10,000 pound batches of material as well as a stainless 35 cubic foot V-Cone blender with intensifier bar and liquid addition capabilities. Unit 5 is designated to handle non-herbicidal agricultural chemicals or other specialty chemicals and water treatment compounds
Unit 6, sharing the Unit 1 site, is also set up to handle High Activity Herbicides as well as super absorbent polymers, cleaning compounds and other types of material suitable for retail, consumer and institutional use.
